In 1963, Carolyn McKinstry was inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. to participate in a peaceful demonstration in Birmingham, Alabama, at the height of racial tensions in America. She was pinned against a wall by a powerful blast from a firefighter’s hose. Later that year, she narrowly escaped death when her church was bombed by the Ku Klux Klan, killing four of her friends, and injuring another. Now, after decades of pain and silence, she’s sharing Christ’s message of love and forgiveness for all who will listen.
