Joni Eareckson Tada shares candidly about the day in 1967 that she and her sister went swimming and she took a foolish dive into shallow water, breaking her neck at age 17. There were little things that spared her life that day, although she remained paralyzed from the neck down. Joni talks about being confused, angry and bitter toward God until Christian friends helped her come to the place of accepting her condition. She began to take small steps toward thankfulness as she learned how to live with her disability. She shares stories about some of the people she has met while ministering to others with disability and how these folks have encouraged her on her own journey.
