In this one-day Focus on the Family broadcast Jim Daly & John Fuller talk with Laurie Polich Short over her book, Finding Faith in the Dark on her story of trusting God in the midst of a story she didn’t want. Laurie always assumed she would marry in her 20’s but as the years went by and she remained single she began to question why God was allowing disappointment. In her 40’s she finally met and became engaged to a man who ended up breaking it off to reconcile with his ex-wife. This left Laurie once again questioning God, her faith and her next steps. She gives biblical examples of Job, Joseph and Jacob on what we can learn on how to reconcile our expectations with reality and trust God in the midst of a story we didn’t want or plan.  Finally at the age of 49 Laurie married for the first time.
