TJ and Jenn Menn have been foster parents to 24 different children over a 10-year period. They are not superheroes, but simply felt led to do ministry together as a couple, and both had a background of helping needy children and youth. They were willing to serve these kids, even though at times they’ve felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit. Their situation is more challenging because TJ is active military and his deployments have left Jenn as the sole caregiver at times. But the Menns describe the joy of shaping young lives, bringing healing and a witness of God’s love to these children. As they say in the interview, you can’t celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ without the crucifixion. They’ve learned to embrace the pain and messiness of raising foster care kids and if at all possible, with the goal of helping them reunite with their parents.
