Nina Hendee faced an unplanned pregnancy at age 16. She was raised in a prominent Christian family that was pro-life, but the stigma of her pregnancy wouldn’t be tolerated in their social circles. Abortion was never an option, so Nina decided to place her baby for adoption. In 1971, every adoption was closed, and the young mothers were strictly counseled about not seeing their babies or ever having any future contact with them. A compassionate nurse gave Nina her baby to hold for 20 minutes. It was a profound faith-building experience for her, and she prayed fervently for the well-being and future of her child. She continued to routinely pray for her son over the next 46 years. Meanwhile, Kyle Poulson was adopted and raised by loving, godly parents. As Kyle approached adulthood, his adoptive mom encouraged him to seek out his birth mom. After a long, complicated process, Nina and Kyle were reunited. In this interview, they’ll share their powerful story.
