Bart Rathbone at the Electric Palace, is set up for failure after he pulls his advertising from "Cryin' Bryan Dern's Evening Zoo" radio programme. Bart seeks Whit's help and Eugene encourages him to intern at Whit's End and learn how to treat people as he would like to be treated. After an afternoon of failed attempts of kindness, Bart leaves to interview on Dern's show. It is Bart's intention to demonstrate a change of heart...which is not easy to learn in one afternoon.
In "Bringing Up Dads" Tamika is worried about being seen with her father. Mr. Washington is worried that he is losing the Tamika he used to know. She is growing up and changing. He has some ideas to try out. Tamika is embarrassed at the awards dinner, but learns an important lesson when she finds out her friends think her dad is cool. She finds out that what is most important is that her father loves her, and she loves him.
