A new girl named Kelly arrives at Whit’s End and promptly makes a big impression. She plays the piano beautifully, gives Connie help on her book, and even gives Ed good parenting advice. After a few mishaps, the gang becomes suspicious of Kelly's behavior. Eugene sees Kelly as a scientific study candidate, when electronics seem to malfunction where ever she has been.
Our episode continues with Eugene and Connie in a discourse over Connie's deleted book. Whit explains to Eugene, Connie, and Ed, that Kelly's situation is a difficult one. An absent father, an abusive mother with several boyfriends, schools that have kicked her out, and more. Kelly is placed in a foster home for the time being, but expresses interest in the Washington family. The Washington's face a difficult decision when Whit suggests to them that they might be an ideal family for Kelly to be mentored in. The adventure ends with all members of the Washington family agreeing to bring Kelly into their home, after much prayer and deliberation.
