Harlow Doyle is on the case! Rodney Rathbone has had a camera stolen, and he thinks someone from Whit’s End took it. Harlow examines the facts and turns up nothing.
Whit and Harlow get to the bottom of it. They discover that . . . well, we won’t give away the ending, but you can be sure that the thief is caught, punishment is meted out, and Odyssey returns back to normal.
In "Pipe Dreams" it’s Campbell County Government Day. The student chosen to represent Odyssey Middle School is Charles Edward Thompson, also known as “Chunky.” Chunky is hoping to be assigned to the sheriff’s department, but he winds up in the Department of Water and Sewage. It’s run by a cranky, old woman named Mrs. Bavaqua who doesn’t care for kids or Campbell County Government Day.
To make matters worse, a storm has blown in, and it’s raining all over town. Things get more interesting when Mrs. Bavaqua gets called away on an emergency, leaving Chunky to answer the phones! The emergency nearly turns into a disaster and the only one who can stop it is Chunky!
Mrs. Bavaqua walks Chunky through the steps on the telephone, and Chunky saves the day! As a reward, he receives a citation from the city, a real sheriff’s badge, and the knowledge that, no matter how big or small, every job is important in its own way.
