David Ring was born with cerebral palsy. As a child, he endured constant physical pain and daily ridicule from his peers. He also suffered the loss of both parents to cancer. David wanted to die, too, feeling that life was hopeless, that nobody loved him, and that God was mean to him. Reluctantly, when he was 16, David attended a church service where he met God for the first time and experienced the love of Christ. David Ring often says, “I have cerebral palsy. What’s your problem?” In other words, we all face problems of one kind or another. We can choose to be defeated by adversity, or we can live victoriously in Christ. David chose the latter and defied others’ expectations of him. His life has become an example of Matthew 19:26: “With God all things are possible.” David concludes his moving message by offering hope that, in Christ, we can overcome life’s adversities.
