How to Find a Good and Godly Spouse

Couples often decide get married for the wrong reasons — because they’re infatuated, feel sexually attracted, or feel very compatible with each other. But Gary Thomas argues these factors will fade away all too quickly over time and leave many married couples feeling stale, broken or unsatisfied. Instead, Gary urges single adults (and their parents) to look for character attributes in a potential future spouse that are based on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Specifically, he recommends looking for someone who handles conflict well, who would be a good parent, knows how to pray, shows humility, who is a giver, and is a solid Christian.
